With just a kit, if you gather your own mats, that's only 10% of the cost for the other ingredients/alchemical consumables, and then spending 4 days doesn't cost anything! So with a kit, you would net a 9 TN. But worth the failure risk for 10% cost :-).

Yeah, Mes is going to work on making potions. I'm debating if I should get the kit now, and just take the extra time, or rent the shop... I haven't worked through the numbers... I doubt I'm going to have much money in a couple of weeks.

And we can't gather materials in the Kaer?

Well, you could "gather" mats in the Kaer. But the term for that particular activity is "stealing."
There are no wild plants or animals in the Kaer, basically. Or very very few.

The forest area is all heavily managed. Some of it is public parks, but it's carefully managed and anything useful is going to be grabbed by people in positions of authority.

And any "public park" is *small*. Like a square block, more of a big garden. The rest would be carefully tended to provide things like air, fruit, nuts, vegetables, wood and cultivated medicianal plants.

I don't plan to keep us in the Kaer long. The next adventure arc is a story arc that should end up with the characters either dead or outside.
But the Kaer should intentionally feel confining and limited. Because it is.

Consecutive post 6: I'm going a little slow on putting it out, since Joel is away. And I've been fairly busy at work, and new WoW patch, and Shadowrun tommorrow. And at some point I need to do x-mas shopping.

On a side note, are any of the descriptions of The Dagger, or Cinder like the people we say Councilmen Verdant talking to in the 1st adventure.
[as a guess, Cinder is working with a Horror that will tear its way into the Kaer... thats my 1st guess]

Dagger you're pretty certain is the same person.
The descriptions of Cinder you've heard match the other T'Skrang you saw as well.

So, should we confront C. Verdant about his dubious associations? Or, where we can find Cinder?

updated: 1/0 Heavy Cloak; 0/1* initiative penalty, 10 silver 1/1 Hide Cloak; 0/1* Inititiative penalty, 40 Silver 2/0 Armored Cloak; 0/1* Initiative penalty, 60 Silver
I'll make an updated rules post at some point!
And Mal will follow Mes and Mawaris's lead.
Confronting V. Verdant might be tricky, it will mostly amount to him not speaking, his body guards brushing you off, and him denying everything. And efforts to find Cinder have proved futile. No one knows or no one is talking.

And you can each make a (separate) charisma roll for Mak and Mi'Ven when you get the chance, if you went out drinking with them :-).

You're relatively popular in the Kaer. And these are low level spells, so they're easy to find. 100 silver * circle of the spell to pay someone to teach you a spell (other than the 1 free one that comes with levelling). And 20 LP per second circle spell, for spells after your first *two* of that circle. I'll pay 400 silver (and 20 LP) to learn True Ephemeral Bolt and Innocent Activity (character sheet updated for these). Somewhere in the future I want to learn You Got Me and Tailor for certain (both look really useful, but Innocent Activity is a more unique function to add to my bag of tricks), and possibly a few others if the opportunity arises, but whether the other circle 2 spells are worth money is debatable unless we make a lot of it.

We could also pay to get 'War "Crafty Thought" and he could use that to plant the image of Father trying to opening the warded stone in E. Verdant's mind... or something like that - then we could wait for whomever comes & either ambush them, or try to convince them to give more information.
This would really work well, while we're waiting for Father to figure out how to open it... It'd be a great bluff.
