Karma to Cash! I made 20k worth of cash or trade during our downtime, betting on fights, training some up-and-comers, and in-kind by beating up an over-confident rich guy for his laser pistol!
You could help a fixer find his lost kitten for 2.5k nuyen! Go detective agency.
It may have been adopted by ghouls.

Hehe. I don't think a subdermal stealth chips necessarily has that effect, it's not integrated into his body, it's like eating a marble, so it should be ok!
Lets give him some unnecessary cyber organs then just for fun.
Not a bad use for my cybertechnology skill..

Bands of light twisted around the central nether darting one way and then the next. The very fabric of reality seemed to drift and pull apart in a maze of color and sound. Where the walls and furniture had once been now formed shapes and mathematical structures beyond description. Light knocked against the gliding cylinders floating through space while an undulating symphony of sound grew in the background with a steady crescendo. Soon the voyager found himself afloat on a sea of truth, where even time itself must yield. Years seemed to pass as the voyager reveled in the revealed knowledge, grasping intricacies of theory and reality far beyond mortal comprehension. As the voyager continued upon his course, an angelic chorus joined in the distance – but the glory of their voices was soon joined by a steady rumbling. A rumbling that grew louder, and louder into a cacophony—disjointed sounds eventually became syllables, as a rousing shaking consumed the entire world.
“Konny!” shouted the child-man, as he shook his drowsing friend with all his might. “Konny, wake up damnit!” The shouting, and the shaking, was starting to have its desired effect but it was difficult to rouse Konrad from his slumber. Laying haphazardly on the couch his face was covered with unkempt facial hair, and a line of unsavory drool dangling from his half-open mouth, one of the dangers of his particular hobby.
“Konny you drug-addled bastard, wake the hell up!” squeaked the gnome in his child-like voice. The sleeping man finally opened his eyes momentarily, before slamming them back shut. The visions were lifted, but a stiff haze remained and the sudden re-entry of light into his dilated pupils sent his sluggish mind racing back for cover. “You’d better wake up, you drek-faced fool, there’s someone here to see you.”
“To see me?” slurred Konrad in response. “Yes you goddam dumbass. He’s dressed nice too, either from the Company, or.. er the other ‘Company’ – if you know what I mean.”
“Jesus, I don’t have a payment due yet do I?” he stammered as he rolled off the couch, grabbing his ever-present shades to cover his ravaged eyes. Throwing on a clean black button-down, Konrad carefully stumbled his way to the living room where a dignified gray-haired gentleman sat, sipping tea freshly prepared by the suite’s drone servants.
“Good afternoon, Konrad,” said the gentleman.
“Afternoon, Alfred,” replied the lay-about as he slumped into a chair.
“I hope I did not interrupt your sleep.”
“Its quite alright,” said Konrad as he reached for a lighter on the coffee table and pulled a cigarette to his mouth.
“Smoking now are we? Hmmm, well I suppose given what else you’re into that is not surprising.”
“Cut the crap Alfred, why are you here, did father send you?” He asked, irritated.
“And an attitude too? You missed the sub-committee meeting this morning, and I just wanted to check on you and make sure that everything was well," responded Alfred with a steady calm voice. Of course the company could have sent just anyone over. An executive of his stature wouldn't normally bother with such a routine affair, except perhaps in the case of the owner's only child. He paused for a moment before launching a pointed query: "What exactly is it that you are doing, anyway?”
“What I’m doing?” he responded, taking in a deep draw. “I’m living.”
“I suppose you could call it living, of sorts. How is your little business doing?” asked Alfred with a raise of his eyebrow.
Konrad merely stared back from behind his impenetrably dark glasses.
“I hear that business has dried up.”
Konrad continued to stare.
“Contacts don’t return your calls?”
The stare continued.
“And that you owe back payment for the rent of your office.”
“So, business isn’t going quite as well as I’d like, that’s not the end of the world.” Retorted the young man with a clearly frustrated tone at the way the conversation was becoming an interrogation.
“It wasn’t that long ago that you were making quite the name for yourself as an investigator. Don’t think that I’ve forgotten: the recovery of the Kingsford Coin Collection. You collected 5% on a policy worth 5 million nuyen. That’s the sort of caper that makes the newsfeed, you know.”
Konrad puffed on his cigarette. He’d made a killing in better times, but that money was burned through and gone. Alfred was spot on in his analysis. Once a shining young star in the Seattle spotlight, he had quickly burned out and his investigative service was now little more than a derelict. The cred itself was gone, blown on expensive parties, and even more expensive women.
“You have a sharp eye and a head for details Konrad. You know that could have taken you far.”
He rubbed his head in response to the lecture, “Yes, of course Alfred, I could have been King of the World.”
“What of your dreams of cybertechnology? Were you not preparing to launch an entire new division of the company to pursue your dream?”
“It was a mirage, Alfred, a figment of my imagination. Like everything else I thought I’d earned. It was a dream never worth the paper the diplomas were printed on.”
“Oh? And why is that? Because of your father?” asked the old man with a prying gaze.
“You know damn well he never respected a thing I did. No matter how hard I worked, no matter what I accomplished he always saw nothing but disappointment. You don’t know what its like, Alfred.”
“Oh, of course Konrad. Your life has been a terribly hard one. Never having to worry about where your next meal would come from, where you’d live, or your livelihood. Blessed with the talent of a prodigy. All of these cars, some worth as much as a person may earn in a lifetime. The motorcycles, the houses, the downtown penthouse suite. Yes, a terrible, tragic life. The women who drape themselves over you, the endless food and booze, the imported tobacco and globe trotting trips. Did you ever worry when, even when you were overseas? You fled from home after Medschool and never once did you have to worry about your father cutting your allowance - Russia, China, Japan, Germany? It didn't matter, he paid for you - yes you're right, I wouldn't understand.”
“Don’t play games Alfred. You know I realize all of that, but still! Whenever my father looks at me all he sees is disappointment. I devoted so much of my energy to trying to make that one man look at me and just see a hint, a hint of affection or pride in his eyes. He turned every success into failure, every project into disaster. I have gone everywhere, but nowhere!” Konrad's hand shook a bit as his voice trailed off - it was not often that he loosed himself and let go of his innermost insecurities.
Alfred actually sighed a bit, as much as he wished to prod the young man he also knew that a life bereft of any loving family could not have been an easy one. “He cannot help but think of your mother whenever he sees you...”
“Of course,” interjected Konrad grinding his cigarette into the ash tray, “and the fact that I’m not human. Something he reviled so much that he hid it from me for most of my life – not that it prevented his derision and seething dislike even while I lived in ignorance. That man cannot stand anyone unlike himself... but damnit, I just wanted him to see past all of that.”
“Konrad, your father has worked very hard to secure the financial independence of your family and your company. He does this as much for your sake as your own. No matter what you may think of the way he has treated you, he does care for you.”
“Hah! Easy for you to say," interrupted Konrad.
Alfred continued, without even a hint of a rising voice. “Its just that you remind him of his father, and everything he disliked about him. You’re more like your grandfather than you know..." his voice trailed off a bit as he worried he might say more than he intended. There was so much that Konrad still did not know: about his grandfather, and about the reasons for his father's difficult relationship.
Konrad leaned back in his chair, stretching out his arms. “And... how exactly is that my fault?”
“Its not – but none of this relieves you of your responsibility for your own position. Are you really going to allow your father to define you?”
Konrad responded with a snort, as he turned his gaze away.
“You have every opportunity to succeed, no matter what your father thinks of you. Its your decision to make, not his.” Alfred sipped his tea as the two sat in silence.
Meanwhile, back in his own room Konrad’s little friend shook his head. “Better buck up dude,” he said to himself.

This is Konrad at rock bottom before his turn to the magical arts, so probably 2-3 years ago. I liked the idea more than writing a pure narrative of his life, and I have a few other ideas for posts I'd like to do. The visions are a mix of drugs and the Artificer tempting and pulling at his natural magical talent, trying to draw him into the world of magic.

I think I'd like to reemphasize the use of "Reznor" as Konrad's street name. Maximoff is his publishing name, and one that Antoni, Kaz, and Kurt are familiar with (I will say that they know of his work). They call him "Max" much to his chagrin.

Call him Winzler in your blogs, for me please :-D I like the Tron reference, and it sounds a little less like a Ronald Reagan Zombie name.
Other notes and thoughts about Konrad's development: 1) I am considering hiring someone to run the daily operations of the detective agency. He would be a PI of some variety, able to handle leg work and grunt work, and handle most of our minor jobs directly. Konrad would retain his control over the agency, and could intervene on interesting assignments, or possibly draw upon his partner as a resources in other investigations. The agency is a great front, and something that Konrad finds an interesting diversion. But this would free up more time for:
2) I am considering having Konrad get back into his study of cybertechnology. As I've expressed before, I would like to cyphon off resources from Von Bruener industries, and one way to do so is to get hands in research funds. This would have the added benefit of making embezzlement that much easier to hide (and excuse if caught). With Alfred's help he could plausibly convince the company to send some money his way, set up a lab, and conduct some real research while secretly using much of the resources to fund the build up of foundational resources for The Circle (physical resources such as a real head quarters, research library, and contact network) - rather than for personal benefit or resources.
3) Given Konrad's run of "bad luck" I think I will work into the plot some of his attempts to change this, including some actual selfless behavior on his part (volunteer service, charity, church), anything to try to right the karma in his life. He may also try to quit smoking, I have some fun ideas for those attempts! I will probably buy out the Bad Luck disad before much longer, and by some more Edge.
4) My main priority beyond that is increasing my Magic attribute to seven, and initating again. I think I considering using Computer Programming for Centering - would that be possible? I imagine him working on his wist-mounted comlink as he prepares to cast spells.
5) I am also considering increasing his enchanting somewhat. Its up his alley of work and interest, and something that's potentially useful. But it takes a lot of time to increase it to where its really useful.
6) As I continue to work on my background, if Ehren wishes to give me any karma to spend on Doctorish knowledge skills I'd be happy to use them! XD

Not a lot of time; but here is the first shot at this:
(1) Hiring assistant would effectively buy off the disadvantage - so it would cost the karma of buying it off. Reasoning: The time constraint is the disadvantage, removing it, removes the disadvantage - while still leaving the income...
(2) While an interesting idea: (a) you are not currently cyphoning off resources from the company (b) where would you go with the skill (c) Von Bruener is mostly an aerospace company... what would the business case be for working to start(increase) cybertechnology work?
(3) Social benefacting will certainly work toward buying off Bad Luck.
(4) Computer Programming would work... just not very well. Programing has such a long interval, that thematically it'd be weird. How many lines of code would you say that have to code in the free Centering action to get the bonus... or, would you code for hours and then get the bonus to the first spell/conjuring Max does?

Reasoning: The time constraint is the disadvantage, removing it, removes the disadvantage - while still leaving the income... My intent in this regard was to shift to other endeavors, with no change in income or available time. But that is flexible! a) We may not be now, but its something I've been trying to do / wanting to do since the campaign began. That was my original idea for funding any major expenses the Circle might have so that we could become a cool little group with a secret lair! b) Research and Development c) That's what Alfred's and my influence would have to do. It could be good press for the owner's son to be doing something productive and valuable within the company rather than wasting his time. He certainly has the capability to produce real valuable research good for public relations and exposure if nothing else. It does not take long to write a few lines of code (no longer than it takes me to type this sentence). Rather than a complete program itself. I would assume that it'd be handled like other centering skills, except rather than doing a little dance, or singing a song, or meditating for a moment, he focuses his mind using the coding itself to help guide his spell casting attempt.

[2] I'm not going to stop you... and it is a cool idea - but is that where you want to focus your efforts? You are the Mage/Face/PI/DR of the party, and I want you to be happy with where you are spending your limited reasources. Cyber tech R&D will take years of time (you'd be starting from scratch) even with Max's amazing intellect. Corperations have hundreds (thousands) of employees working full time on these projects making minor improvements. [From a gamey perspective, Max rolls 9 dice for this work. A non twinked out character for similar stuff would roll more dice for this (Logic: 4, Cerebral Booster 2, gene +1, skill of 3-4 = 10-11)] I'll let Joel and Tom weigh in, but I think improving other asspects of your character would help the team more (astral perception, perception, iniatiation, improving spellcasting & counter spelling, summoning, infiltration, shadowing, negotiations, etc). [4] Sounds good. To use Computer Programing to Center, you will need access to a device that can program ('link, computer terminal, etc)

As I read it the "day job" would become operating a cybertechnology lab, which would probably have a few hired technicians, so it wouldn't necessarily eat up his time. The assistant would take care of the boring stuff like going to stockholder meetings and coordinating with the family.
With the goal being, say, the company provides, say $100,000 a month for the cybertechnology lab, and Max syphons off $10,000 a month with creative accounting to put into secret organization funds. If done that way, it wouldn't interfere with his ability to do other things anymore than the disadvantage already does. It just kind of shifts the flavor rather than necessarily changing much mechanically.
Although you could shift it up to higher amounts if you feel the secret investigating should have more assetts. That would also be a way for you, as the GM, to have us do a lot of investigating that pays $0 nuyen, but then give the charactesr $2000 a month each to invest in getting better at fighting evil.
So mechanically, we'd be making what we would make doinog shadowruns, but we'd actually be doing charity work.
It would *also* be a good way to explain all the Karma-to-cash conversions I've been making or might make in the future. "Where did I get the $10,000? Oh, that's some of the money we syphoned through the cybertechnology lab Max runs as his day job."

Clarify by 'not necessarily eat up his time' I mean that it would continue to eat up time as per the "day job" disadvantage, so he'd lose that time, but it wouldn't prevent him from working on his shadowrunning and magical skills.
And I was thinking interfaces are an area of cybertechnology that is highly relevant to an aerospace company, both high end rigging which involves cybertechnology, and the massive coding issues inherent in a good simsense interface on a vehicle - especially since the company seems to be designing unusual craft that require particularly good interfaces. And move-by-wire does share a lot of common features with fly-by-wire! ;-).
I'm assuming Max is interested in the cybertechnology involvement, but finds rigger interfaces just as intersting as other areas - he's not trying to build street samurai. But working on better man/machine interfaces (be it rigging or interfacing with a cyberarm) would fit his interests. In other words, he doesn't necessarily have to be developing gear the players would use.
Also, of course, he can use it as an excuse to improve his "people" skills, such as ettiquette and negotiations (and con) which are relevant to his party-niche.
